CC DARE in Tanzania

Country status in brief

Tanzania is signatory to the UNFCCC and submitted her Initial National Communication in 2003. As a least developed country, Tanzania completed the NAPAs in 2005.

CC DARE mission

A CC DARE scoping mission was undertaken in October 2008, where a stakeholder consultation was held with a broad representation of national climate adaptation actors.

Proposals submitted

Tanzania submitted 8 proposals for funding through the CC DARE programme. The range of project proposals was varied: ranging from agriculture and water sectors to indigenous methods of weather forecasting as an adaptation tool.
